Leadership
We are a church that believes in a plurality of leadership, made up of elders and deacons.
ELDERS
Our elders are men called to serve the church by providing biblical leadership and spiritual oversight. As servants of God, they are entrusted with helping to shepherd the flock, care for the spiritual life of the church, and give biblical direction to its ministry and mission (Acts 20:28).
The elders are responsible for ensuring that the teaching, ministries, and overall direction of the church remain faithful to Scripture and consistent with the church’s beliefs and commitments.
The biblical qualifications and responsibilities of an elder are set forth in Scripture and further described in our Constitution.
Arno Bijl
Arno & Ilona BIJL moved to Alicante in November 2023. They have been married for over 30 years and have 4 grown-up children. When the children left home for studies and work, they decided to support a church plant in Alicante. Over the years they have lived in Luxemburg, Denmark, Cyprus and Switzerland. While living in Denmark, Arno served as an Elder in FIBC Denmark. They love to meet people from all over the world, each with their own story and are looking forward to getting to know you and your story too.
Matthias Heinrich
The Heinrichs followed God's calling and moved from Germany to Spain in June 2023 with their two children. As part of the IBC family and former members of IBC Bonn, they came to Alicante with the desire to plant an English-speaking church. While living in Germany, they led a LifeGroup for two years at IBC Bonn. Matthias runs his own IT company, while his wife Mira manages their family and home. They love serving God and the people around them, sharing the gospel and growing together as followers of Jesus.
